Since online renewal is every other year and since 2013 was the year for a live class, the only people who will have to take a live class in Austin this year are the few folks that should have renewed in 2013, but did not. All current instructors will be renewing online.

DPS will be sending an email to all instructors giving them an update. I expect this will be after the legislative session is over, but I'm not certain. Sherrie will be going over all of this at the 2015 Texas Firearm Instructors & Range Conference on July 13th.

Thanks,

Wayne
Not sure how it will be handled in 2015, but in 2013 all instructors were notified and had to attend a DPS instructor classroom session to get re-certified. DPS brought the classes to some of the metro areas for instructors to attend. For the shooting portion you had to get a qualification from another instructor.
All instructors SHOULD have been notified about attending class. I never received any sort of communication. If not for this forum, I would have been in a world of hurt.

When and where will the TFC instructor seminar be?
God and the soldier we adore,
In times of danger, not before.
The danger gone, the trouble righted,
God's forgotten, the soldier slighted.

I just got on to register and is says from 0400 to 1030 on the calendar... I don't mind early, but I think it may be an error.

Please let me know if that is correct. I will need a lot more coffee.

I did double check the time.... it is 0900 to 1530.

Thanks, I've fixed it. I guess something happened when I installed a software update.
