Wasn’t there supposed to also be a new test and training guide released.

Looks a whole lot like part of my "Introduction to Pistol Shooting Class." Not a bad video, but not really a replacement for actually performing the steps taught.

As for the new test and training guide, IIRC from the class last week, speaker stated they were in legal review and expected to be out this week. We will see. In 2019, it was October before they got the new material out. Hope they revise the test quite a bit and get rid of some of what I call the "duh" questions and look more at legal and decision making issues.

I am already teaching off what I call a Beta Test version still covering what is on the current test and guide, but also discussing the new laws and how they apply as well as discussing differences between LTC and Permit-less carry.

Here is the companion video on "Firearms Handling".

The sooner I get behind, the more time I have to catch up.

On the DPS home page, https://www.dps.texas.gov/, scroll down the bottom of the page. Under DPS Quick Links, see the middle column titled "General Information." The Firearm Safety Video link and the Firearms Handling Video link are in this column.
