I am curious about the b27 small and large target.

So if someone qualified with a 250 on the smaller target he/she wouldnt be legally qualified??

It does not have to make sense, it's just the law (rule). :)

I suspect the instructor would be in trouble. :)

Nope. The statute says what size and type of target must be used, so if they do not qualify on the correct target, then they didn't legally meet the requirement.

Blue is blue. DPS only specifies black, blue, red, or green. They do not say anything about the blue must be aqua, turquoise, teal, cerulean, or royal. Just blue. So, I would say you are good to go.

FWIW, altho they are SUPPOSEDLY on the same weight paper, all of the blue targets we have got over the years from LE targets seem to tear much easier than the other colors. And someone correct me if they have seen, but I know of no one in the industry currently making the proper size target in a pure red.

I've also noticed many of the shortened B-27 targets on Instagram...as well as hidden video during class. ;-)

Please tell me that you are using the new 25 item test? They did away w/the 'target' question. :) (I did think it was a little silly to ask students. )
