Especially given the fact that the vast majority of instances where a firearm is used in self defense it has not been necessary to pull the trigger. The very presence of a weapon ends most encounters. In these cases caliber size means absolutely nothing. That being said, if you produce a firearm you need to be willing to pull the trigger.
