OK, just for the heck of seeing what information (if any) that I could get, I called DPS today and spoke with a lady. She said that it looked like I had submitted everything I needed for instructor renewal, and that I should keep checking my email for information about what I needed to do next.
Huh?
If I have submitted everything, what else would I have to do?
She said something about "I think there may be some information about something you have to do online, but they are still working on that."
By now, y'all know that I stay confused.

My Latest Telephone Call With DPS
God and the soldier we adore,
In times of danger, not before.
The danger gone, the trouble righted,
God's forgotten, the soldier slighted.

God's forgotten, the soldier slighted.

This time around you only have to pay the $100 fee, & send them the CHL-90 form (& supplemental docs, example: NRA docs). That's it. No class, no shooting, nothing else.
