Embedding videos - New procedure

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

Okay folks, I stumbled on the fix for embedding videos, including Youtube videos. I uploaded an extension that allows the embedding of virtually all video formats just by pasting the entire URL without using any tags. If you use the "video," "youtube," or "googlevideo" tags, it won't work. Now I need to locate those tags and remove them so people don't get confused.

Now this leaves 44 pages in the "One song that speaks to you" thread and who knows how many others in the Christmas music thread with videos that won't work until the tags are removed. I'll get right on that -- yeah, you bet I will. If anyone wants to edit their own posts with videos, just delete the tags and it will work fine.

The videos work fine. :thumbs2:

I like the new Jump To Page feature, but it isn't working for me.

I have to say, I am REALLY digging these new forum changes!

I hadn't tried it until I saw your post and it isn't working for me either. The "Jump to . . ." forum is working, but not the page. I'll add that to my To Do list.

I am too, but it's still taking some time to get used to the new-to-me format. I suspect someone will modify the Subsilver style to work with the new software. If/when that happens, I'll load it.

Charles, you have my sympathies. I upgraded a server on Tuesday and spent all day yesterday trying to figure out what broke the mail server. Computers can be a major pain sometimes.
