How to use an FFL Holder?

#1

Post by JRG »

How do I go about using an FFL holder? Do I find the gun first on the internet then contact the FFL? Do I contact him/her first? Do I contact him/her and have him/her find the gun for me?

Color me confused. :eek6

You can find one first to see what their transfer fees, hours etc. are just so you will know. I have a lot of people contact me after they have already purchased but it really does not matter.

1a. Choose a weapon.
1b. Select an FFL
Can be done in any order or in parallel.

2. Find best deal on weapon.
3. Ask FFL if they would like to offer you a price on same weapon. Some FFLs might beat your best price and include the transfer fee in the cost.

4. If buying online, give FFL contact info to seller. Seller will contact FFL to complete their end of things after you pay seller.
5. Pick up weapon at FFL. Fill out any necessary paperwork. Inspect weapon carefully before accepting. After accepting you'll need to contact the manufacturer for any unseen issues.
