The Gun Belt Poll

The Gun Belt Poll
This question comes back around frequently, and most of us who've been carrying a while agree that a solid, stable gun belt is the #1 most important attribute to comfortably concealed carrying any handgun in any holster.
With that in mind, I thought I'd start a poll to gather end-user's opinions on the best or their favorite gun belts. PLEASE limit your responses only to products you've actually used. Not only will this give better data from actual user experiences, but will help - in theory - provide a subtle control for cost-benefit analysis (after all, a custom belt maker may make THE BEST belt on Earth, but if no one can afford to buy one, thus no one recommends it here because no one has used one, then perhaps that belt is simply overpriced for the market and not really THE BEST choice).
Each member is allowed to select two choices (but I think you can select just one if you prefer) - the reason for two possible choices is that many of us use both a web belt and a leather belt depending on circumstance, or may have experience with multiple belt makers and like two of them.
As always, you are encouraged to reply to the thread with specifics of why you voted for what, and even tell us belt makers you've tried and didn't like and the reason(s) why. And I tried to be as thorough as I could while limited to 20 choices, so if your favorite belt maker is not listed then please pick "other" and elaborate with a post so we may all learn about the belt maker you prefer who is not listed here.

I'll start things off ...
I chose The Beltman and Wilderness Tactical because those are the two I use 99% of the time now. I've tried both leather and web belts from 5.11 and while they do the job, Beltman & Wilderness do it better, IMHO.

I always get the Comp-Tac for a reason
It's the only contoured double layered one I am aware of that you can get both, Kydex reinforced AND Velcro ... although some others like Crossbreed offer either/or I think. Others may offer both now, but when I started carrying, Comp-Tac was the only one, and I've stuck with them, love the quality. If another brand offers BOTH options on one belt, I may give them a try in a few years if these start to show wear.

I voted for 5.11 only because its the first and only gun belt I own.
It does do the the job but after a couple of years it has seen its better days. I would classify it as an 'entry level' belt.
Knowing what I know now, I would spend a little more $$ for something with more quality and a longer life.

I own 2 gun belts, Crossbreed and Blackhawk
I was convinced Crossbreed was a great belt, UNTIL i got my Blackhawks in the mail 2 days ago.
Great Price
VERY STIFF! to the point where it is hard to pull it back to cinch it up, holds the guns very nicely!
Edited to add: I only voted for the Blackhawk as while I like the Crossbreed, it is more flexible, more money and much bulkier with less final effect, so I couldn't vote for them

I've ordered a Blackhawk, but it has been backordered for about a month now
, so I can't vote yet.

Re: The Gun Belt Poll
I wear Galco belts 100% of the time. I personally like leather and the Galco products are excellent. The cost is a bit high, but for a 10 year belt, I think it is worth it.

Re: The Gun Belt Poll
Only gunbelt I have is Beltman, so that got my vote. I'm happy with it and if I needed another belt I would go directly to Beltman.

Re: The Gun Belt Poll
Only gunbelts I have are Galco. They get about 350 days of use per year wheather they have a gun to hold up or not. Holding up great.
They would get more wear but our neighbors to the south and over in the Carribean won't let me bring my handgun with me when I visit. Plus if I'm stuck at the house all day the gun lays on the desk so no belt needed.

Re: The Gun Belt Poll
I use a Crossbreed belt with the velcro backing and have been very happy with it. It's true they don't offer the velcro with the kydex stiffener, but it really seems plenty stiff enough for me. I've never had a kydex reinforced belt, so maybe I just don't know what I'm missing.

...Wilderness belt going on 3 yrs...still in shape and function is as new (velcro)...no rolling or buckling...
...wore the Bianchi B4 smooth black for over 15 years...before the lighter tongue broke...it carried anything I hung on it...prefer the Wilderness to it...

Normally I am wearing my covert khakis when I'm off duty and my coyote tan 5.11 wilderness nylon belt, not exactly the best option however it is my option.. the reinforced ribs of the belt keep it from collapsing from the weight of my 1911 and I'm happy with it...
I've also tried a few of the blackhawk belts and I liked them more than my casual blue jeans belts(brown black reversible insert random brand name that is on sale)
Limited experience but I use a multifunctional setup and for range use I can use the same setup with a serpa OWB.

This is the same belt I have used for a year.BrianSW99 wrote: Crossbreed belt with the velcro backing
Until Wednesday when my blackhawks came in, Wow, what an amazing difference! The Blackhawks are VERY stiff. Nothing like the Crossbreeds.
As a comparison, consider your non-gunbelt, and the difference to the Crossbreed, that is the difference from the Crossbreed to the Blackhawk
