Gun Belt Help

#1

Post by cmgee67 »

Ok guys I need to find a good gun belt. I want leather. I have bought some so called gun belts and none of them have been worth a dang. I had a 5.11 double duty and it was a good belt but I never was able to get it adjusted just right. Then I found a local guy who claimed to have been making gun belts for 40 years. Well it was a nice dress belt but couldn't hold up a paper clip. Then I bought a riggers type belt with the cobra buckle and kydex inserts. Belt is as stiff as a board and holds everything up no problem the only issue with it was that the cobra buckle is too big to go through my OWB holsters and too thick for my crossbreed. So now I'm back to square one. I don't wanna break the bank on a belt. I'm looking for the 60-70$ range. I want it to last a long time and be able to hold my gun and pants up.

Crossbreed makes belts as well, even sells it as part of a pack with their holsters and mag carriers. I've been using one with my G19G4 for over a year now, and it's as goes as the day I got it, just appropriately broken in now as far as fitment goes.

Can't speak as to if their in the range you'd like, but I can say they aren't to expensive, and in my experience, worth the cost. I bought the pack though, came out to under 200 for all three components.

The Beltman, I have two of them, very good, common sizes styles in stock.

I've got a Magpul Tejas "El Original" and I'm very happy with it. Its just at the top, or a little over, your price range at $70-85. I think I picked it up for $75 when I did about four months ago.

I second The Belt Man. For a dressier belt, I've been eyeing a Kore Essentials X1 or X2 belt. I'm drawn to the near infinite adjustment. http://www.koreessentials.com/gun-belts

i have similar issues with my comptac belt, its so thick with the stiffiner that its difficult to feed through owb holsters.
seems like a catch 22 sometimes, get a thick purpose made belt but its so thick and stiff it cant go through a holster

I have a Daltech 1/4" thick and 1 1/2" wide bull hide belt. It cost around $50 and I think free shipping. Its a great looking belt that's well built and has held up great. its amazing what a difference a good belt makes.

Not to disagree with the rest of the field but I have had 3 beltman belts and all were ok... but all wore out in a year or two. Non of them compared to any of the 5+ I have bought from A G Custom Gun leather http://agcustomgunleather.com/ Super nice people, good pricing (he is no more expensive than Beltman last I checked) and high quality gear.
