If you could only own one Sig, which would it be?

#1

Post by newmenu2 »

If you could only own one Sig which would it be? Please exclude the 1911 style and masquito models. I'm talking about the the traditional Sigs like the 226, 229, 239, 220, 238, 232 and thier varients.

What variant? caliber? finish? :fire

Well, my first would be the 1911, but since you ruled that out, I would have to cheat and say a 250. That way, I could use all sorts of calibers and sizes as I felt the need that day.

Other than that, I am not a great fan of Sigs. The 250 does intrigue me though.

Old style 229 (with dad-gum rail) with both 40S&W and 357Sig barrels, converted to double action only with short trigger.

My P230 SL fits nicely in my pocket (in a pocket holster) for church, Bar & Bat Mitzvahs, funerals and other more dressy occassions.

For everyday wear, I carry either a 1911 or a XD.

I'd have to say the 229 in .40S&W with .357Sig barrel as well (which I have). I've owned a 226, 226 elite, 228, 220ST, 220 Carry, and yet, the 229 is still my hands down favorite.

P229 in .40 S&W.

Good capacity. Great round. Incredible feel. Awesome ergonomics. Little recoil. Slightly more concealable than the P226.

. . . I guess I'll admit that I own one.

P229 357SIG with a 40 S&W barrel and a Bar-Sto 9mm conversion barrel. You can use the same magazine for all 3 calibers.

My second choice would be the P239/357SIG with 40 S&W barrel and a Bar-Sto 9mm conversion barrel. If you want something a little smaller and lighter.

Bet you can't own just one. :biggrinjester: ..........................,OE

So far the 229 (in .40) appears to be the hands-down winner.

We ordered a 229 SCT in 9mm as a Christmas present for my wife. Still hasn't arrived, so the jury is still out on OE's assertion.

I'm truly in love with my P-220R Equinox (45 ACP). :thumbs2:

Pictures do not do this weapon justice.

P210, but failing that, pre-rail p229 in .357 Sig. Almost as multipurpose as a 4" K-Frame in .357 mag.

229 Elite Dark in .40 or .357 Sig. Back before this configuration was offered, I "built" a nearly identical pistol by buying a standard .40 229 Elite and replacing the Rosewood grips with aftermarket Hogue Extreme Aluminum grips, and it's by far my favorite of the three 229s (and one 239) that I own. I don't really have a rail/non-rail preference. Two of my 229s have rails, and one doesn't.

229 in 9mm with Crimson Trace.....wife loves the smooth action and manageable recoil. The red "dot" makes aiming simple.

Gee, judging by your user name, I'd say your response would hardly be a surprise! :biggrinjester:
