Ft Worth gun show question

#1

Post by bluelineman »

There's a gun show in Ft Worth on Sat 3/31-Sun 4/1. It's been a long while since I've been there. I usually go to the show at Dallas Market Hall.

Anyway, here's my question...do they make you check your carry gun at the door so they can put a zip tie on it? No ammo on your person? Anything else I'm not thinking of? Thanks!

No loaded firearms are allowed in the gun show. All firearms are supposed to be checked at the door. I do not agree with this, but that has been the policy in the past.

There were two of FT. Worth's finest checking pistols at the show last week.

Reason for no-guns policy

#5

Post by jimdark »

I think you will find that most gun show promoters have general liability policies that require a no loaded guns policy inside their gun shows. The show that TSRA promotes in Mesquite has the same policy, not because we want to, but because we would have to do the show "bare" of insurance if we did otherwise.

Even the gun show insurance available through the NRA's Endorsed Insurance Program has this restriction.

Hi, I'm a long time shooter and soon to be first time owner of a Glock 19. My question is about the Original Fort Worth Gun Show happening this weekend. Will there be dealers there that carry the Glock 19? I have heard that I can get the best deals on a new Glock at guns show but wasn't sure about what was all at this gun show. Thanks.

Welcome to the dark side! (But don't tell LT!)

You will find more Glocks at the show than you can carry home. Take a notepad, note prices, and then buy after you have walked the entire show. I have usually seen the best prices at Bachman Pawn. They should be there, but many others will be too.

:iagree: with llwatson... you should find plenty of Glocks at the show to mull over.

Also, welcome to the forum, pvn1105! For a group of mighty fine members with a ton of great information on Texas CHL, I don't think you will find another one better!

The rules concerning gun carry don't apply to a CHL holder. We only have to look for very specific words. If they aren't there, it can be disregarded.

Besides, this facility is owned by Ft. Worth, so legally, they can't post and if they do, its meaningless.
Convincing the armed officers of this fact may prove futile though.

BTW, I'm heading up there in a few. I'll have on the brightest orange hat in the place. Its got the new Joint Strike Fighter on it.

no 30.06

I went Sunday and was very pleased to see NO 30.06 posting.
I've debated sending a thank you to the hosting organization, but I don't want to call attention to it if it was an oversight.
Anyone know if it was a deliberate decision to ease the posting?
