DFW: Want a PINK handgun? HALF Price!

Post by drjoker »

Hey,

I want to buy a Duracoat kit to paint a Glock 26 pink for my female friend. The kit is $41, shipped to DFW, according to the duracoat website. The kit paints 2 to 4 guns. would anyone like to pay $20.50 for half a can of duracoat? Paint tends to dry up if you wait too long to use, so just let me know when you're gonna paint your gun and I'll bring the can over and we'll paint our guns at the same time. Or I can paint my glock and then bring the remainder over to you the same day. Or if you'll pay me $40, I'll paint it for you and deliver it to your front door if you're in the Dallas area. I'll have to check with my lawyer first to see if it is legal for me to paint your gun for you if I'm not a FFL before I'll agree to do this for you. PM me and we'll arrange a time and date.

This is what I want to do:

IMHO your gold plated NAA .22mag was quite eye catching but I know your gonna do what you want to do.

Just curious, have you considered a slip on "grip cover"?

You don't have to have an FFL to paint guns.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that doesn't fall under "gunsmithing".

Edit to add: I seem to recall the ATF trying to expand the definition to include some pretty ridiculous services, like mounting scopes and sighting in rifles, so that people providing those services would have to get an FFL. I don't know whatever came of that.

IMHO, pink stuff excluded from above.
"It shall be a defense to prosocution if..."

IANAL

Edited to add: All kidding aside, I just checked out Duracoats website. I never realized the benefits of the product, yes I know "Dura" is in the name. It's worth a look if you haven't seen it already.
They even have a product line dedicated to New York mayor Bloomberg - vivid colors with his image included on the gun. I recall he got some of his clothing bunched up and he wanted to deny the right to "paint" a gun the color of your choice.

I kind of like the bright Taxicab Yellow myself.

Then there's the John Deer Green, Harley Davidson Orange, and of course Hot Pink...the list goes on.

Kind of brings the "there are many like it but this one is mine" to a whole new level!
