Article 4413(29ee) Museum of Natual Science

Post by Abraham »

I saw this on the entry door to the Museum of Natural Science prohibiting guns:

Under the authority of Article 4413(29ee) ...essentially stating no guns allowed in the museum.

My question - Does this apply to CHL holders?

Thanks

Nope. This is the old Vernon's Civil Code and is not legally valid for CHL. Only 30.06 or verbal notification. IANAL

I am not a lawyer but it would not apply to me in the state of Texas.

If it is not a 30-06 sign I walk past it like I would a "no cocaine" sign. Does not apply to me.

IANAL

just LT

Keith beat me to it. "rlol"

If you're talking about the Houston Museum of Natural Science, I believe it is owned by the City of Houston. If so, then even a valid 30.06 sign would be ineffective.

Yes Charles, it was the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Thank you very much for the information.

And thanks longtooth and Keith B for the feedback too.

You should probably avoid carrying cocaine and a handgun at the same time, regardless of license status ;-)
