New OC billboard in San Antonio

Post by Liko81 »

I didn't see anything about this in the new threads for today so I thought I'd throw this out there. OpenCarry.org and the Texas Citizens Defense League are, as most of you know, making a push for open carry in Texas. The movement is now centered around making more of the public aware of the petition. The latest advance is a new billboard on I-35 just north of San Antonio, as you head north to Austin:

Image

The ironic thing about this is that OCDO got the billboard space from ClearChannel, the same guys that donated 30 billboards to an anti-gun group in Philadelphia.

OCDO is pushing for this image to be distributed around the intarwebz viral-style, so if you're a friend of open handgun carry in Texas, this image is public domain; post it wherever you think it'll make a difference. OCDO is also accepting donations for the next wave of taxicab advertisements on Austin cabs. Spam over, we now return you to your regular CHL threads.

I have no problem with open carry. In fact, I see it as one more obstacle for the anti gunners. :thumbs2:

OC is great. Especially when you're eating in some yankee restaurant. Spray on a little Sabre and kick it up a notch. BAM!

A Topic about Country Clubs in Orange County, California? I lived there for a while, but never messed with the country clubs...WAY too expensive.

Oh. You mean something else. :smilelol5:

Coming soon: banner ads on taxis in Austin.

Edit to add: the model on the billboard is Lori Townsend from Houston. She's a gun-rights activist and actively supports open carry. She was recently featured in Canadian Firearms Journal, wearing a thigh holster under her wedding dress instead of a garter.

Yes, guys, that means she's recently married. Sorry!

The article is on page 20 of this .pdf download:
http://www.canadianfirearmsjournal.com/ ... 008-03.pdf

The photo on the billboard was made by Oleg Volk; she's done several sets with him.

Not necessarily unsafe for 10 year old daughters, but definitely cheesecake-ish:

(Several other sets on his site feature artistic/tasteful nudity, in case that's a problem.)

FYI: The sign is between mile marker 179 and 180. It faces south on the southbound side of I-35. You can see it while going north by looking across the Interstate.

There's supposed to be one up, or going up very soon, in Houston.
