OMC Kurz .380 (9mm) Back Up

Got a friend who picked this up in a trade. Did not have the owners manual. Does anybody know where to get an owners manual for one of these? I know OMC is out of business (and has been for a while) and AMT (i believe)is the current owner, but still can't find much. I'd even take emailed copies if somebody has a manual laying around (monetary compensation could be worked out for your time). Open for anything. Thanks.

All I can say is WOW. Nice job. (and I feel like a moron for not being able to find it myself). I do appreciate the help.

NP. BTW, the link was listed in WikiPedia on the AMT Backup page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMT_Backup" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

One other question, there are some differences looking at the AMT schematic and the actual OMC pistol (grip safety, slide/ejection port, regular safety). Do you know of a place to find OLDER schematics? I don't want to break down this pistol and not know how to get her back together properly (I can always take pics of it step by step), but like to have the reassurance that I'm not screwing something up. Thanks again. Three minute timer starts.........NOW!!!

Well, here are a couple of other flyers http://www.glossover.co.uk/amt/pdf/380Backup-flyer.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which is the pistol you apparently have. Also http://www.glossover.co.uk/amt/images/B ... ploded.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Doesn't look like they changed a whole lot when they went to the Backup II, so should break down the same I would think, but will keep looking.

Not 3 minutes this time. :mrgreen:

Also, try " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as they look like two different models.

And http://alankwak.com/amt380backupcleaning.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My youngest brother has the Backup in .45 ACP. It's quite a handful to shoot.

On the money. The alankwak site hit the nail on the head. Thanks a ton.

annoyed man, I can imagine the .45 is a handful, especially if it is on the same (or similar size) frame. The backup .380 is a fun size.

I carried a AMT .380 for back up in Narcotics - I hated that thing. Just me.

I've had 2 AMT S/A 380 backups, and one DAO.
I gave one SA to an Officer who ankle carried it all over Hawaii.
Sold the DAO, and still carry an AMT 380 backup Single Action sometimes.
Raerly though .... I hated cleaning it .... any gun you have to go get a hammer to field strip in order to clean ....
(Replaced it with the Diamondback DB380)
Best ammo in mine, after polishing feed ramp some, was Remington JHP, as the rounder nosed JHP ammo fed reliably.

I didn't click all the links, but if you need anything else, hollar at me. I still have Manual, Box, etc etc etc.

It works well enough, I liked it better than the DAO. Heavy compared to my DB380 though.
