Why a badge? If you wore it in plain sight, everyone would know you were armed, defeating the "concealed" part of CHL. You just as well open carry.

I have two that I carry. I cut a hole in one and welded it to the front of the slide of my Blart 1911A1 Tactical weapon system with pistol bayonet so any scum criminal will know I am ready for action. I put the other on a chain around my neck so it will not hinder my ability to use my weapon with both hands. Now that I think about it and reflect on a few of the "Batman" posts we've seen on this forum, perhaps selective issue of a CHL Badge, with a flashing blue light, might not be a bad idea.

My take on CHL badges is this: In what instance to you envision yourself using one? After a defensive shooting, when the cops show up? I think you'd be far better off with your open hands away from your body and your weapon placed on the ground in clear view.

Or perhaps you'd flash one if someone caught a glimpse of your weapon when the wind blew up your shirt? I could see that going badly, for example getting prosecuted for impersonating an officer of the law.

I wouldn't use one, personally. But of course, my advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

ah, can't start the new year without a post related to CHL badges.

on the other hand, I wouldn't mind having one as a gag gift, but over sized and on a plaque. Just as a conversation piece in my house.
