Kel-Tec KSG Failure

Post by OldCannon »

Not a ringing endorsement of Kel-Tec's decision to use polymer for their rail mounting.

Good for frames (keeps weight down), bad for places that have strong torque effects.

You would think after all the hype and drooling people have been doing over this shot gun that Keltec would put them through a torture test before shipping them out. I saw one on gunbroker yesterday for almost $1500. I almost wet my pants laughing so hard thinking about some mall ninja that just HAD to have it. I have watched quite a few videos of people firing the KSG and it looks down right nasty from a recoil stand point.

Not too surprised - it's a new weapon that is going to have issues. Just like software (OS's, Video Games, etc.) companies use the first sold units/produced to further diagnose any issues or problems the product is prone to. Is that right? Nope, I don't think it's too cool. Still... it happens, and it's why I don't want to own anything from the first production run. I don't want to be beta tester. I'm sure they'll fix it up, and if they don't.... well, that would be a bad move on their part.

Yeah. There are several going for 1400 and up.

Some dealers on line were taking pre-sales reservations for around $600.

I wonder if they are honoring that price.

The real question to me is if KelTec is fixing it. From everything I have heard, they are pretty good about doing that.
