Today only .22 LR in stock 2,000/customer limit

Was at Academy yesterday, and noticed a flyer at the gun counter announcing a special shipment of .22LR would be arriving at all locations today. This is assorted name-brand, quality plinking ammo (Remington, Federal etc.). The ammo is pre-packaged at the manufacturer in exclusive Academy-only packs of 1,000 rounds for just $49.99 each. Limit 2 per customer while supplies last.

I confirmed this deal with the gun counter guy and his manager. He said each store is supposed to be getting more than 500 of these special packages today (500,000 rounds per store).

He also hinted there would be a surprise new .22 LR brand in stock today in large quantities for $9.99/250 rds. He wouldn't confirm, but I believe this is a new "Monarch" brand .22 plinking ammo. He said this new ammo will be available in very large quantities but wouldn't reveal more.

I suspect this whole thing is a big promotion to launch this new Academy-brand "Monarch" .22 - I know Privi Partisan makes the center fire Monarch stuff for Academy, anyone know if PP makes rim fire ammo?

Anyway, I'll be there today.

naaahhhh.... it's all good. About noon I remembered I owned the company so I hired myself back. Still no .22 lr and I didn't get that raise or promotion either.
