That's interesting, 75 ends (starts actually) in Dallas and goes north. Do you mean 45?AndyC wrote:A friend of mine just opened a shop in Hutchins (just south of Dallas down I-75) to apply high-lubricity electroless nickel (EN) and other platings/coatings for firearms (and whatever else you might need).

He probably does, but I-75 is in the Great Lakes region. US-75 ends in Dallas where I-45 starts.jimlongley wrote:That's interesting, 75 ends (starts actually) in Dallas and goes north. Actually I will have to give him a call. I am looking for a "refinish" on my stainless Colt that has suffered a lot of burnishing over time and would consider this if it could be had in a matte finish.

I just sent him a contact message asking if he can do the BCGs for AR15s.

I've gotten my bolts disassembled, and my son wants to include his bolt carrier. I'm picking up the parts from him this evening, and then I'll get them to you.

Looks very interesting. I didn't see anything about an FFL on his website. I thought if you kept a "receiver" overnight, he has to log into his bound book. I suspect an FFL manufacturers license may be required for this business. But I am not an FFL and don't really know. Just a thought.AndyC wrote:Unfortunately not; he's not set up for that and doesn't have the time/manpower to get involved in gunsmithing itself, but he's happy to accept stripped parts.
I just back from him and holy cow, this isn't a backyard chemistry set operation - any parts would be plated to aerospace standards because that's the industry he's set up for, as well as oil-field parts. Really high-tech stuff going on.
