Micro 9mm Carry, Looking to Change Anyone Carry
I have been carrying Kahr Pistols IWB since I have received my CHL.
Been carrying a PM9, one with NS one without.
But just figured it was time for a change.
I do prefer,lighter carry weapons.
Tried the XDs already. No go,too heavy.
Here's what next on my list
Beretta Nano
Walther PPS
M&P9c
XDm 3.8 Compact
I divorced Glock a long time, but with the 43 out, I was looking in that direction, but as a last resort.
Also The Shield I was considering also, but haven't been able to grab one at a decent price.
So...
Nano
Walther PPS
M&P9c
XDM 3.8
Shield
Glock 43
Or just go back to a PM9???
sooooo...if anyone carries any of the above and have any input.
Thanks guys/and girls
Mike

PM9 is almost as "micro" as it gets in 9. I carried one for about 12 years and replaced with striker fired Ruger LC9. Sig 938 on wish list. The others you list are mostly larger and heavier than PM9. I have the XD9M 3.8, and while I really like shooting it, it is like carrying a brick. To me anyway. But I got spoiled by the PM9.

If you can wait until May when Kimber releases their Micro Carry in 9mm, it might fit the bill.

I have this model in .380 acp and if the 9mm is anything like it, should be a great pistol.
Basically a 'Colt Mustang' with some notable improvements.

indeed, all the guns on the list seem heavier and bulkier than the XDS. I had a shield .40 and sold it for the XDS .45, while the .45 was heavier than the XDS9, i recall the XDS having a shorter grip than the Shield and being more concealable.
Was the PM9 lighter than the XDS 9?
Im carrying a 1911commander now and prefer it comfort-wise to any of my compacts/subcompacts somehow. Have you considered a Sig 938?

My wife and I both have G43's.
I've fired close to 600 rounds with mine, my wife around 400.
I've had two FTF's with 115 gr wwb on mine, my wife had zero issues.
Both eat 147 gr federal, 124 gr Speer gold dot and doubletap 165 gr +P without issues.
Capacity is low, but I always carry two extra mags with me.
Accuracy is as good as the shooter. Once you get adjusted to the extra snap with heavier grain loads, 7-10 yard is piece of cake, 11-15 is doable with patience, 16+ gets to be a chor (I'm not Hickok45 ). That's on the center of standard b-27 c target.
Overall, it's my favorite carry right now, in alien gear IWB, it just disappears.

I have handled the XDs and own both a Shield and XDm 3.8 compact in 9mm.
IMO, the Shield is comparable weight to the XDs, the XDm is larger and definitely heavier.

My Beretta 9mm Nano has been ultra reliable. I have shot 1561 mixed rounds. It weighs 1.1 lbs (17.6 oz) and I added a Lasermax laser to it. If I pocket carry I use a Remora holster or a Barsony OWB clip on belt holster. I highly recommend it if you want a small 9mm. Shown in the photo is a Nano and a Beretta Pico .380 for comparison.

What are you looking for that you aren't getting from the PM9?
The PM9 is in my rotation and is an "anytime / anywhere" gun for me, meaning it is small enough to carry when my back hurts and when I really, really want to stay concealed. I consider it to be best in breed for that purpose, personally. If you want increased accuracy or more capacity / caliber, you will likely need to go to a bigger gun.
My carry rotation includes the following in order from big to small. My most common carry right now is either the Defender or the G26.
Full size 1911, all steel. (2 1/2 pounds of comfort for when my back is feeling good).
Colt Defender / Glock 26 (most common carry is one of these)
Kahr PM9 (when I really want to stay concealed and am willing to sacrifice some firepower)
J frame revolver (usually grabbed from my car for an unexpected stop)
Kel Tec P3AT (just need to remember I have this tiny thing on me)
With the exception of the G26, I have one gun for each situation. I then carry based on the situation. I will likely be getting rid of the G26 and adding a Commander size 1911 to fit the slot between the Defender and the full size 1911.

Re: Micro 9mm Carry, Looking to Change Anyone Carry
PM9 was find on every front, guess I was just looking for something new, with so many manufactures coming late to the Single Stack Party, guess I figured I would try and see if something is as compact, pratical, accurate, and reliable as the Kahrs.
PM9, Is 19.6oz loaded with 6+1. Most single stacks start at that weight empty.
P938, I don't like 1911 style, nor safeties and only striker fired.
Nano, I have one on the way, I've had one before, never fired it, trigger was heavy and gritty.
Might end up back with a PM9, I kept my holster when I sold mine last week...
Anyone had any exp. with the PPS?
Oh the LC9s, But I have yet to see one without a thumb safety....
Nano
PPS
43
Shield
Scratch those heavier ones...

That would be the "Pro" model. It came out right after I dumped the original hammer fired LC9 and got the striker fired. However, the trigger is so short and light on some of the original striker fired LC9s (including mine), I actually prefer the thumb safety.

LC9s Pro does not have an external thumb safety. You might want to consider it.Oh the LC9s, But I have yet to see one without a thumb safety....
