Even Glocks need cleaning occasionaly
I spent the day working in the yard with my Glock 26 in my front pocket holster. Checked it before we left for dinner and decided there was too much grit. Even for a Glock. (I have other guns :-)
After dinner.
I took it apart and gave it a quick spray of Rem oil, wiped it down and I should be good-to-go.
Your milage may vary.

I've had Glocks for almost 15 years now and can't even imagine how much crud is too much for a Glock.

Pocket carry is a very dirty way to carry sometimes! I never realized how much crud is in my pockets until I added a pocket gun to the if I can't get away with a bigger gun carry option.

Regarding pocket carry, I carry my phone in my pocket without a case or anything to block the ports and have to clean out the lint from them about every month or two. I discovered this a few years ago when my charging cord and ear phone plug stopped fitting all the way into their ports.
There's a bunch of lint in our pockets. At least for jeans there is.

Next time, take that cruddy thing out and run some rounds through it in that condition.
Find out where the failure points are in your equipment so that if you are out there somewhere, and your pistol gets cruddy, you have a pretty good idea if it will work or fail.

I wasn't worried about pocket lint. It was the sand.

Love my Glocks. Be sure not to neglect the firing pin channel. Of course it depends on how much you shoot but on occasion I will remove that back plate on the slide, remove the firing pin, and clean out the channel with alcohol, let it dry, and re-assemble.
There are excellent Youtube videos on how to do that.

Before I loan out a socket wrench in the future, I will make sure the borrower is not a Glocks owner.

Hi Points are twice as good as Glocks at 1/3 the price!
