While cleaning my Glock 26 today I noticed my nylon gun-cleaning brush was getting pretty dirty with the usual carbon build-up.

I sprayed some Hoppe's Elite on the brush, rubbed it around with a cloth patch and was amazed. The brush looked almost brand new!

Don't throw away those old, dirty brushes!

For me, the brushes wear down before they get too dirty to clean. Then again, I take the view that the brush is to loosen up debris and a cloth or Q-tip is then used to wipe it away, so the brush doesn't really need to be all that clean.

I soak mine in Ed's Red bore cleaner.

Gets the brushes like new clean without weakening them or turning them green like ammonia based products. After soaking for an hour or two you can see the gunk off the brushes in the Ed's Red Solution.

Good Stuff.
