Family values

Rowlett, Dec. 14 -- A woman shot her son-in-law in the back of the head with a "small-caliber handgun." The bullet did not penetrate the victim's skull.

The woman subsequenly held off the police for 90 minutes and then shot herself twice in the chest, with non-fatal results.

Police allege that the victim's wife was having an online affair and convinced her 71-year-old mother to shoot him. The older woman is in the hospital and the wife is in jail, charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Link here. Warning: eye protection required.

I hate it when things like this happen. I just hate. Every one of these incidents is a blow against law-abiding shooters.

I'm more angry they aren't going for Attempted Murder, which to me, this obviously is.

THIS is the gun violence problem. People shooting other people, criminally, and getting bogusly light charges. I saw her bail was FIVE GRAND, if I recall.
five grand bail for attempted murder is nuts.

I want to know what gun and ammo were uses...so I never own either.

That gun shot a man in the head at point blank range and then shot a woman in the chest twice at point blank range and both of them survived with no serious injury.

It's better to go for Ag Assault. It carries the the same penalty as Attempted Murder and you don't have to prove up that the person was trying to kill, just that they caused serious bodily inujury and used a weapon.
