Woman told to stop calling 911, killed
A 17-year-old Florida woman who called 911 repeatedly about her abusive ex-boyfriend was reportedly told to stop calling or she would be arrested. The next day, the ex-boyfriend killed her and himself.

I wonder how many people in that 911 office are in the cover yourself mode and I wonder if ANY of her calls will ever make it to the public

Choose 1911 and live.
Choose 911 and die.
Those are the facts.
Deny them at your own peril and don't deny me my right to choose.

These are the people we are told we should to trust our lives to! I have been on both sides and I choose taking responsibility for my own safety. I won't depend on someone else to protect me. They (police, spouse, family, or friend) most likely won't be there when they are needed.

It is like the sheep thing, people seem to be afraid to take responsibility for their own safety. I for one feel the need to protect myself and my family.

LET THE POLICE DO THEIR JOB!
Let the police do thier job by coming to your house, fill out the paperwork, then take the BG out of your house feet first.

Well - to be fair - this is just the moms version of events. Who knows what happened at this point. Maybe the cops came out the first 10 times and the girl refused to file a report or something similar each time.
If it did happen the way the mom said, I feel sorry for the family. Like everyone else here said, they should have taken responsibility for their own safety.

Before we go into the endless sheeple routine, reread the original
If the girl was 17, she could not get a gun. Her parents may or may not have guns but they could not have given her one.

Sure they could, at least in Texas. I'm not sure about Florida.B3XD wrote:If the girl was 17, she could not get a gun. Her parents may or may not have guns but they could not have given her one.

I believe it was Grits Grisham who said, correctly, that when seconds count the cops are only minutes away. Those who choose not to even attempt to defend themselves have that privilege, what I hate is when they seek to make it mandatory to extend their helplessness to others in some warped sense of public safety. ??
