Police said an officer was patrolling behind the store when a man in a maroon car started ramming his patrol car. The patrol car became trapped between the maroon car and a concrete barrier.

"When [officers] arrived, they found a female who was saying she was having a disturbance with her boyfriend who was inside the apartment," said Officer Joe Rios from the San Antonio Police Department.

That man, who has not been identified, dashed into a back bedroom, where three children and a family friend were all asleep.

Then police say the boyfriend came back out of the room, with his fingers wrapped around a weapon.
