:iagree: I'll be there tomorrow. I'm praying it stays a happy place and that no one breaks into my car.

Pulling up an old thread, I know. I was there last weekend and didn't see any signs. Anybody been there this season and seen one?

(My Gerber EAB Lite made it in twice as a money clip, but at re-entry after lunch the second day, I had to take it back out to the car.)

How does Fiesta TX NOT fall under the Amusement Park rule? Just curious.

“Amusement park” means a permanent indoor or outdoor facility or park where amusement rides are available for use by the public that is located in a county with a population of more than one million, encompasses at least 75 acres in surface area, is enclosed with access only through controlled entries, is open for operation more than 120 days in each calendar year, and has security guards on the premises at all times. The term does not include any public or private driveway, street, sidewalk or walkway, parking lot, parking garage, or other parking area.

San Antonio population - 1,359,758 (greater than one million)
Size of Fiesta TX - 200 Acres (bigger than 75 acres)
It's open more than 120 days a year, is only accessible through controlled entry and has security guards.

In my CHL class, I understood that an amusement part as defined above was off limits, period; sign or no sign. Did I misunderstand? or did my instructor misquote?

Flip back a page and read the red. Still needs to be posted to be prohibited.

- Their website has a policy on weapons. Firearms, ammo, knives, and pepper spray are on it.
- Absolutely no 30.06 signs.
- No gun buster signs, or generic "no guns" signs either.
- They have metal detectors setup at the entrance.
- Park security officers (unarmed) were pretty sparse, and I only saw one uniformed SAPD Officer near the entrance of the park (a few feet from the metal detectors). I was at least hoping they would have a few more officers roaming the park.

Not knowing the situation, I locked my piece up in the car. I (sadly) went unarmed all day, as everything else I would have carried was on their "prohibited" list. While they don't have legal signs posted as per 30.06, I didn't feel like getting busted by the metal detector and trying to explain the circumstances. Oddly enough, a pro-gun buddy of mine (who carries, sometimes) regarding my criticism of the parks 'rules', said "Well think about it from the perspective of a mother taking her child to the park. You're there to have fun with your family". Funny... I see family as a reason to always go armed!

I'm kind of glad that I didn't carry - some of those coasters put the whooping on you, and having a full size handgun IWB woulda' really beat the snot out of me  ;-) .

IIRC, the signs are actually at the gate when you pull up to pay for parking... Therefor, even the parking lots are off limits... Unless you are under the notion that car carry w/o license supercede's 30.06 since it only applies when you are carrying under the authority of your CHL...

I looked at the parking booth and didn't see them. That's why I'm asking if anyone has seen them this season. I
doubt they're gone because they WANT to allow concealed carry, but I was searching and couldn't find them. And I'm pretty sure I've seen them in the past.
