Traveler's gun discharges at Bush IAH ticket counter;

The subject line is NOT my wording, but that of KPRC Channel 2, Houston
A traveler's gun accidentally discharged Monday at a ticket counter at Bush Intercontinental Airport, according to officials.
It happened around 2 p.m. Monday. Airport officials said a man was taking a weapon out of his bag at a Delta Airlines ticket counter at IAH's Terminal A to check it when the gun discharged.
Police responded to the scene.
No one was hit, and there were no injuries
When will the news realized, "guns dont discharge" --- by themselves?

Why didn't the person clear the gun (1) at Home (2) in the Car?

I'm pretty sure it's because they don't want to be sued. A court hasn't found the traveler guilty of a a ND, so that person might have a case for damages against any media outlet that said they were guilty.

I usually clear my gun and lock it in my case in the Men's room at Bush airport when flying out.

When flying back in, I usually reload my gun and rearm in the Men's room.
