Well, the games are on with the reloading component suppliers. I ordered some bullets and brass from Powder Valley on December 19. The bullets were in stock but the brass was listed as out of stock. I placed a second order for powder, other bullets and some other brass 3 days later as things were starting to disappear from their inventory. Everything was in stock on that order but the brass as well. The second order has already shipped with no questions about what to do on the brass that was not in stock. Powder Valley started emailing two days ago about what to do with the first order since the brass was out of stock. I told them to send the bullets now. They replied back this morning that they are now out of stock on the bullets (appears they sold them to someone else). I like buying from them as they have the best prices but I am really torqued at them for selling what I ordered to someone else. This shows a lack of integrity on their part and that will be in my mind the next time I need reloading supplies.

It is possible -- and likely -- that there was no ill intent to screw you. I think it is more likely that they are engulfed in a chaotic tsunami of orders and their business processes are simply overwhelmed.

I don't think it was specifically aimed at me but there were some games played. They said the had both the 223 and the 6.5 bullets in stock on Thursday morning and wanted to know if they should ship them. I told them to send them. I got an email this morning that the 223 bullets were gone but that they had the 6.5 bullets and wanted to know what they should do. I said send them. I got an email earlier this afternoon that they now have nothing and want to know what I want to do. It ain't nice to tease people like that.

Mistakes can easily be made but they should make it right asap. They should have set aside your order since you had paid for it.

Uhmmm, fellas, you couldn't see this comin' from a mile away? Not bragging but I put all my orders for bullets, powder and primers in before the election. I am well stocked and ready. I didn't think it would turn out like it did but, biased on the past and all the trouble obtaining components after the 2008 election I decided to beat them to the punch.

Prior to the election, I was more concerned about components for shooting pistols and did get ahead a little on that. I had ordered a few things for rifles and was thinking about getting a little more when the school shooting occurred. I watched the status at Powder Valley for a few days and it did not look like much was happening. Then I noticed that some of the powder I was thinking about getting went out of stock in the 8# jug so I started ordering. I got every thing I wanted while it was still in stock but I was counting on Powder Valley to fulfill their part of the deal. Live and learn. I have enough to keep me shooting 3 gun matches for a while and let me work on practicing long range shooting with my 6.5. If things run to close to my "low level mark", I will stop shooting the rifles until more components become available.
