Scotch Brite grey pad and battery powered screwdriver plus regular case prep

I've done that with some heavily tarnished brass and 3M scotch-brite pads, it was very time consuming but came out great.
Made a quick mount mandrel for my bench top drill press, took a wood dowel and made it slightly tapered so I could just push the brass into it while it was running at a slower speed, then just get to work.

I cleaned about 200 - 30-06's that way. Then did a quick vinegar bath...not long though to turn them pink.
Well... actually I did the vinegar bath FIRST, then scotch-brite pads.


On some that were worse inside, I took some plastic coated stranded cable, like dog run cable.
Took a piece about 4" long and removed about an inch off the plastic and turned it in reverse with my fingers making the small wires spring outward, then fold them up and put inside brass and attach a drill and turn.
It cleans the inside very well all the way down to the primer pocket hole.

Now thats getting extreme, but I had time and it works well, plus with the inside shining, you can look for defects on inside wall at web.

Looks good, but remember, anytime you are using pads like Scotchbrite or other abrasives you are taking away some of the metal. The potential exists to make the case thin enough to compromise the integrity during firing, especially in some higher pressure rounds. When I was reloading, as long as my cases were smooth I never worried how tarnished they were.
