I often end up on campus in early morning hours or late evening as I am responsible for the network infrastructure - meaning lots of hands on time, and usually off-hours. I think for myself, to be able to carry, isn't even a question. My job requires these times, I should at least be given the chance to provide my own personal security.
We have one location in a not-so-great area - off Corinth near Akard in South Dallas. I told my boss if she wants me there after dark I'll be packing at least 2 pieces and one will be an assault rifle at the low ready.
Needless to say, she's never asked me to show up there after dark.
