Trouble Submitting Documentation Online

#1

Post by jnichols2 »

I tried twice today to submit my documentation online. It failed both times.

I first entered, then checked, all required information.
Next I browsed to and selected the PDF file with the documentation.
When I clicked "UPLOAD", it processed for a few minutes, then gave a "Cannot Reach Page" error.
I didn't get a chance to click the "SUBMIT" button.

I kind of think it's a DPS site issue. But did I do it wrong?
Should I have clicked "SUBMIT" instead of "UPLOAD" ?

I attempted to upload the CHL-100 for my CHL Instructor Renewal. Two days later I received the following email from RSD:
There were no attachments with your email. You may want to resend a new email to us again with the attachments included.
Make sure when you are uploading attachments that you follow all steps below:
1. Hit the “Browse…” box
2. Then make sure you click on the “Upload” box
3. Then click on the “Submit Form” box
Many persons skip step #2 above and their attachments do not come through on our end.
I tried again, and I believe the mistake I made the first time was clicking on the "Submit Form" too soon after clicking on the "Upload box." It took more than a few seconds for the file to finish uploading. Wait until the file finishes uploading and the name of the file clears out of the attached file box, then click on the “Submit Form” box.

txtaxman,

Thanks for your input. At least now I know it's "UPLOAD", then "SUBMIT".

Their web site was "Down for Maintenance" last night, so I tried again today.

This time, I got "Server Error" after the "UPLOAD" processed, but was able to backspace to my input page.
I changed the narrative to make it a query on the problem and clicked "SUBMIT". That worked this time.
I quickly received an email "We are researching your problem".
Now it does seem like a site problem.

I bet it gets fixed before the ObamaCare site. :biggrinjester:

Now it's late Monday morning.

I still get server errors trying to upload documents.
Still no reply on status of uploading server.
Spent 30 minutes on phone hold.
Took documents to Post Office and mailed them.

Postal clerk said they can guarantee delivery tomorrow for $14 extra.
Reminded him it's only 25 miles from Cedar Park to Austin. "rlol"
Sent them Priority with Tracking and Signature Required.

Now the wait begins. :totap:
