Post by Originalist »

Today, March 13, U.S. Senators Mark Begich (D-Alaska) and Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) introduced S. 2188, the “National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2012.” The bill is the Senate companion to H. R. 822, which was approved by the U. S. House last November by a vote of 272-154.

Thoughts? It was introduced by 2 Democratic Senator's!

I view it kinda like I would a smoking ban... something that'll make my life easier and better, but not something that the federal government has the authority to do. National reciprocity should come from article 4, section 1 of the US constitution, or the 10th amendment should kick it back to the states (and I will laugh so hard if anyone in the federal government pretends to care about the 10th amendment anymore).

I remember; and that's a sentiment I generally share (though lately I'd almost say it could be extended to any politician at all).
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.
