Fox reporting he has Resigned (two weeks after being re-elected). Cites Mental Health issues. Wonder what took him so long to figure that one out!

Anyway, he is gone. Not much more info at this time.

EDIT:
I have been informed the was not really a Reverend (another Dem fallacy revealed). I have changed the posted title to "Rep."

2nd EDIT: Changed title to reflect "JUNIOR". Shows what I know about these guys.......LOL

I'd like to think of this as a good thing, but I fear that whoever is annointed to replace him will be just as bad, if not worse.

And just think, he gets the Congressional pension for the rest of his life, IIRC. What a deal, huh? :mad5

On the other hand, events might intervene to "shorten" his life.....

IIRC, he said he was going to wait until he got his pension before resigning. Plus, if he did not run for re-election there was a chance that a Republican could win his seat. Not much of a chance, but a chance. This way, I think the Governor get's to name someone to take over his seat.

I just read that there is also a federal investigation against him. Maybe that will impact his pension.

That's not possible! The AG is the same race as him and will not pursue anything!

To get the pension, a congressman has to be either 62 years old, be 50 with 20 years of service, or any age with 25 years of service. Jackson wouldn't be able to draw a pension until 2015, now he has to wait until 2027.

:iagree: that's not possible, but let's not play the race card... it's not because of that, but because they're cut from the same cloth.

In my opinion no Republican would have been elected in that district, but what he's done is very unethical...

77346 - I take offense to your post. Not because I am racist but because they play the race card all the time. That's the point I was making! If they can do it ALL THE TIME, it should be OK for me to do it ONCE! If, that is what I did..........

Actually, I don't think I even played the race card........
I pointed out an association of race between two people. I said nothing bad about the race. I said I thought it was what Holder would NOT do. Nowhere did I put white against black or vis-a-vis..........

So did I play the race card?

:iagree: What goes around comes around. Everybody is racist, it's just a matter of degree and honesty.
