Day One Hundred Six (106) since sending in paperwork.

Texas CHL in hand 10 minutes ago.

I've carried a firearm (or two or 3) for most of my adult life, so not a big deal.

Carry smart, don't display unless you are willing to use it, and practice often and SAFETY
must be your mindset.

Peace - Patrick><> :txflag:

Yes, I am sure that many people had a good laugh and that's OK.
laughter is a good stress relief. it has now been over a month and the waiting is no easier.I know the wait is 3 months or more and yet I check the site at least once a day for a glimmer of hope. I have saved up enough to get a small 9 mm Taurus for my carry weapon and I have my eye on a nice Moss berg, I think that is the correct spelling, 30.06 bolt action with scope in camouflage colors. I still want an AK 47 and AK 74 along with the Springfield 45. XDM. That will complete my gun needs for a while :thewave

I send in all required stuff on 2/11/2014. I couldn't upload to the site so I was given an email. I got a conformation email stating they received my attachments and they were forwarding to CHL specialist for review. I waited, waited, waited...checking daily, weekly, monthly, stopped checking. 5/30/2014 still no status update. So I called. It was busy and basically hung up on me. Annoying. So just to make sure I reprinted all my documents and snail mailed them. (I did email thinking it would expedite the process). I called late last week and spoke to a young man and he stated they were still waiting on my documents....what the heck. I told him about the email and the confirmation email and now the snail mail last week. I gave him my email and the email from their office (the one that responded). 15 mins later he comes back stating they have the documents and he would expedite the process from here on forward... The lady never forwarded my info. 4 months later...what the heck.

Finally 6/11/2014 I get an update! Woot! Background check. How long does it take once the status to background check is applied?

What I learned. If you have no updated after 2-3 months..Call. They seriously are pretty clueless.

Background check takes a day to a month sometimes. Most people I've observed have their plastic in hand a couple of weeks once the process starts moving.

Omgosh... These people are clueless. I send them an email to see the status of my application and they say they are missing my chl 100 form which my instructor sent in. However thankfully I still have the paper so I take a picture and send it to them in their submit chl documents area. I received an email saying they got it. Then I got another email saying send it again, which I do. However this time I call them. I was on hold for 15 plus minutes listening to the worst Kennya music ever. Once I got someone to answer my call she informs me that they did not have my chl form and gave me a direct email to send it to. But that was prior to listening to a recording of the commissioner of the department of public safety tell me five times in a row all the stuff Texas was doing to keep me safe. Hopefully I will get an update soon or else I will be a commissioner police officer who just wasted 200 bucks and gets to carry a gun anyway.

DAY 132

Over (submitted in early Feb) 4 months now. Just called again and got a guy who said not only do they have all my required documentation, he sees that I have sent it multiple times (the other representatives said they couldn't see but one upload) and has no idea why it has never been processed but that it has been left sitting and never routed to the correct department. This is after I uploaded my docs a second time whilst on the phone with a representative. She also told me they would expedite it but never ended up doing anything with it. He stated he would annotate my account and deliver all my documents to a supervisor Monday to try and get it processed. He also stated the supervisor will contact me via email or phone on Monday afternoon to follow up with me. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and hope this is FINALLY resolved but I have heard this before. He did seem more sincere than the other guy I spoke with who told me I just have to wait. After over 4 months, what's a few more days?

Hopefully it works out.

Makes you wonder why those of us that are at 40-50-60 days, get told we should just wait and be patient when we get anxious about lack of status updates.

Great news. Logged on today and it says that they are making my card. The process is almost done and I am a very happy girl. However my boyfriend is having the same problem I was. They keep asking him to send his chl 100 form and then it gets lost every time he sends it. But I hopefully got that all taken care of, but I will protect him while we are out and about with my newly made card!!!

Well, I am not too sure what this means so I thought I would ask you all. I went to the site today because it has now been over two months. Every time I have gone to the site in the past it would say waiting on all the materials but this morning it says nothing at all other than asking me if I want to apply for the certificate to teach the class. I was wanting to know if this was normal or is there something wrong with the web site?

Not trying to rub anyone the wrong way but it is hard to believe there are still people waiting from February. I would be placing a call to my State Rep. They seem to have a way of untangling things when necessary. Just my 2 cents that aren't really worth that anymore....
