Notice and Renewal

#1

Post by WinoVeritas »

Received a nice form letter from TX DPS informing me my CHL will expire 1/1/2016. Said to file on line. Did - took all of 5 minutes and $37.83 on CC. Said they would use pic and fingerprints on file IF they met requirements?? If not they would inform me to get them redone and submit.

I was a bit surprised I got a notice at all, much less almost six months ahead of time. Hope it goes well.

That is normal. They send you a renewal notice 6 months prior to expiration. You should get your renewed license in short order.

Interesting. Mine renews in November and I haven't received anything yet.

Received renewal license in mail today - 23 days start to finish. Used same picture as before (not DL pic); Still shown as 'Concealed Handgun License" or CHL; good for 65 months. The state did good! :hurry:

Nice! They're definitely speeding things up. Glad it went smooth.

I did my renewal on 7/30, & my birthday is in late September. I hope they're as fast with mine!

Anybody else having a problem with the Tex.gov website? It been showing "down for maintenance" for 2 days for me.

Edit: 8/13/15: Did some checking and found I could access the site via Chrome, but still can't via Firefox...Interesting.
But it doesn't matter now. Received the renewal in the mail today. Took about 3 weeks.

They've already changed the licenses? That's interesting to know.
