I just received a text from Carl. His surgery has been delayed twice, but has been rescheduled for tomorrow at noon. He asked for prayers for Mrs. Carlson.

Well praise God! What a ride. I ended up in the Big Baylor. I had a lung collapse, a problem with the wired for a temporary pace make, but everything else the doctor said he expected. I will have a long time healing because I am not the smallest guy in the world. I cannot think everone enough for praying for my family. Mrs. Mary said she could feel the prayers.

UPDATE: I am real sore and in some pain. I feel better than I have in about four years. I start Heart Rehab next week and so I hope to heel quick. I hope to be more healthy than before. I have lost 60lbs since January and would love to loose more. I am having to use a Walker right now, but soon will be off of it. No preaching for 6 weeks. That how it boxes up for the Carlson's. I sure appreciate all of the friendship, calls, notes, and PM's. Nothing tops all of the prayers that went up. God is still in the miracle working business.

That's great news! Don't rush the rehab. My dad had this type of surgery back in December, except for the collapsed lung. He thought he would be back in no time. He's finding out his body isn't on the same schedule as his mind. Doc said total recovery could take as much as a year. Nine months later he finally believes the doctor.

I also had a collapsed lung. That must be not unusual with Open Heart. Thanks for the counsel.
