Wreck kills local church goers

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

More than a dozen senior parishioners of First Baptist Church in New Braunfels met with tragedy Wednesday afternoon near Garner State Park when the vehicle they were riding in was involved in a fatal motor-vehicle collision.

Prayers of comfort for all of the friends and families, of the deceased, prayers of healing for those injured. God got a large group of angels at one time.

I read law enforcement believes the pickup crossed the center-line and caused a head-on collision. Doubt the poor van driver could have taken any evasive action. However, always be careful when driving folks. :(
Please know and follow the rules of firearms safety.

NTSB to investigate. DPS saying truck crossed center line and hit bus.

Earlier reports said the a motorist called 911 before the crash to report the truck driving erratically.

Very sad, condolences to all of the families and to their church family.

Crider said the three-day retreat is an annual getaway for seniors at the church. They use it for fellowship in faith.

“They go and practice music, spend time together, spent time in prayer and it’s a church retreat,” Crider said.

this has just rocked the whole area around here...and I haven't gone up to New Braunfels yet today. It's just awful. One survivor from that church van, in critical condition...at this point....

I just saw a news report that the driver of the pickup was texting while driving. Ended up killing a bunch of people.

I suspected either texting or impairment via alcohol/drugs.

The legislature needs to put a law on the Governor's desk and he needs to sign it.

I've seen both texting and drunk. The texting from the above article, the drunk from "someone who knows an EMT" in comments on FB although it was said several different times by different people relating the comments to EMT's and Cops....so until I see something official from NTSB, I'll still with just being suspicious. I do hope, however, that the kid is on suicide watch.
