- 26.8% will participate in 11 to 20 matches per year; 27.4% in 6 to 10 matches; 21.3% in one to five matches; 3% will shoot 51 or more matches
- 89% have a concealed carry license; 2% are waiting for their licenses
- 14% are concealed carry instructors in their states
- 31.4% participate in no other shooting sports; 31% shoot USPA; 27.4% shoot Steel Challenge
- The average respondent spent $1,581 on IDPA shooting equipment in 2013
- 92% own at least one handgun specifically for concealed carry
- 92% also own at least one rifle; 86% own at least one shotgun
- More than six in 10 respondents indicated that they reload ammunition, primarily for handgun and rifle; a smaller percentage of participants also reload for shotgun
- IDPA members in the U.S. alone spend upwards of $30 million annually on the sport
- More than seven in 10 respondents are members of a shooting range and pay an average annual membership fee of $163
