STI Ranger II - Report

#1

Post by carlson1 »

No one responded so, I just bought it. Walk by faith not by sight. My wife said it was foolish not faith. O Well.. It is one of the greatest 1911 I have ever held. The grip is extra thin. Out of the box with a little oil. 15 yrds a quarter size group. Easy to carry and conceal. This one is a definite keeper. :anamatedbanana

This is the 9mm 1911 that's about a hair's breadth thicker than the 9mm round itself?

I've never shot one, only handled one in a store, and it was a tight, well-made pistol.

STI has a good reputation for competition race guns. They're pricey, so we don't see many comments on them as far as daily carry goes. I'd like to hear a report once you get it sorted out and have spent some time with it.

Mine is the .45 same size as the Commander. I will let you know how she operates. I plan on shooting about 1000 before I decide to trust her and carry her. I got this at an unbelievable price. It was brand new in the box and small dealer I know bought ten and had this one left. He wanted to move his stock and let me have it at cost $783.48 plus tax. I felt it was a great deal. I had just sold a AR 15 and purchased some things for my Church and then had a little to spare so, I told my wife it was HIS perfect will.

Wow, great buy!

Contrary to popular myth, John Moses Browning is not God. But God does prefer the 1911.
