New to CHL, New to TxCHL

#1

Post by zmorrow »

Hello friends and fellow Texans! :tiphat:

I am new to the TexasCHLforum.com website and I just received my CHL in the mail Yesterday.

I took the class way back in June and was barely able to afford to get my license submitted last month, finally!

I submitted my payment and had my paper work sent to Austin on the 21st and got my license on the 13th of this month. Very fast turn around imo.

I have been browsing the forums and looking around and so far I think this will be a great resource for me to use and a nice environment to enjoy.

I know it may sound silly, but I now have to save up for a Gun and holster. Just glad I have my license.

Just saying Hi and looking forward to interacting with all of you.

Thank you,

Zach

Hello Zach. Where did you take your class?

There are small gun shops scattered around the Cypress/Spring/Tomball area; quite a few places for you to do window shopping. :txflag:

Welcome to the forum, Zach. You'll find this to be a great place to learn about CHL laws, customs, and best practices.

Welcome to the forum, Zach. There are lots of good discussions here along with more good information than can be found practically anywhere else. You seem to be from the same neck of the woods as me. Perhaps we'll run into one another sometime.

I am actually Texas born and raised.

I live in Spring and about 5 minutes from Carters Country and Gander Mountain. I am literally surrounded by places to shop for a gun. I've been doing some research and watching reviews on YouTube for the right gun for me. I've shot my brothers Glock 23 and his SpringField XDm. I like both guns very much.

I actually took my class at my place of employment. A really good guy named Brian Bayani (http://www.bayanienterprises.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). :coolgleamA:

I got about 20 people I work with to sign up, so I got the class free. :-) :anamatedbanana

I'm a proud Texan, father of 2. I love my job, my country and the GREAT Republic of Texas! :txflag:

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Zach

Found it. LOL, Everyday Carry.

I'm still shopping for one. I am torn between something small and compact like an XDs or something like a Glock 23, also looking at the Rugar LCP 9mm.

Still shopping so I am doing my research. :fire
