My choice is a semi-auto 20 gauge. The model, Reminton 1100 youth, I chose was for fit. I chose a 20 over a 12 not because I can't shoot a 12 easily but because a 20 is allows me to shoot a whole lot more! I chose a semi because it is easy just load and pull the trigger. I think pumps are fun but you do have to learn another set of movements to cycle the gun. For defense purposes I think simple is better.
