PSC really did it NOW .....

Post by bat1 »

Got your attention  No really, PSC released a new WEB site :thumbs2: Looks good... :thewave

What do you think ?

The only thing is it does not show the number when people register for an event, I know I like seeing how many was register for like the IDPA events :???:

Now, only if the members could access the cameras, I could see if my favorite range is in use before I drive 45min :coolgleamA:

I will say everyone at PSC is GREAT, they all keep the RANGE safe, clean, and is really nice to go there. Hats off to all who work the grounds and web site.. :tiphat: Thanks

We are going to be doing a lot more with the site than you currently see. We'll increase our promotion of the various shooting programs we have at PSC and to get new people into shooting.

The site is really nice!!!! I also noticed that the membership is currently frozen! It doesn't surprise me given how fast the membership classes were filling up.

When I read that message, I literally thanked God that I became a member in time. :thumbs2:

I also like the new site. HOWEVER!! I did not like the notice that new membership is closed! That's like McDonalds saying they've sold to many hamburgers so they have to stop selling them. Very old business axiom; 'If you're not growing, you're dying.'

IT is Not the same :nono: What would be the same, is that there are too many people inside McDonald's, so we closed the door to prevent overcrowding :clapping: And not to over burden the workers :totap: :totap: In which MOST work for FREE!

OH No!!!! I always lived too far away for a membership to be pratical. We are moving to Pasadena this month, and I was looking forward to getting a membership here. :cryin

Hopefully they will open it back up again soon.

No final decision has been made folks, but it's entirely likely there will be no openings before the end of the 2011 - 2012 membership year. (July 1st through June 30th). After the renewals are in and we know how many people didn't renew, we will likely open the same number of slots for new members, but this won't be until the end of August.

I'll be putting a form on the website for people who want to be on a "waiting list." I put waiting list in quotes, because it will not be handled on a strict first-come-first-served basis. We have had lengthy discussions about what I refer to as "Legacy Members." These are people who were "kids" that came within our definition of family for purposes of the PSC membership, but who are now too old. (PSC membership is a family membership.) We must allow first available membership slots to those folks.

All of this is based upon discussions and ideas folks, so don't take it as a guarantee. Some or all of what I have posted could change. The only reason I'm posting this is because rumors are rampant about PSC closing membership indefinitely if not permanently.

Charles, what would be the best place to monitor for announcements for a "waiting list" or membership openings openings at PSC?

The "waiting list" form will be up on the PSC website within the next week to ten days, but whether there are any general announcements of available slots will depend on the number of people on the "waiting list." If more people submit prospective Member forms than slots available, then there will be no announcement. If the reverse is true, then we'll let everyone on the "waiting list" in, then we'll announce dates for New Member Orientations.

Again, please remember that I'm giving my opinions based upon Board discussions. None of this has been finally determined.
I also want to let everyone know that closing New member Orientations was not a snap decision. We have been monitoring the phenomenal growth for over two years now, and it became obvious that we had to take action to make sure our Members had realistic access to PSC ranges. We are adding new pistol bays and since pistol shooters make up the majority of PSC Members, it is hoped that this added capacity will allow the membership to grow.
