Hey ya'll! So I've been so curious about this and hopefully I can get some answers! I am turning 21 within the next month and my parents wanted to pay for my CHL and first gun as a birthday gift. However I am very nervous because I have a warrant from an unpaid "failure to yield right of way" traffic ticket. I am already making payments on it to get the warrant removed but It is not yet fully paid. I am nervous that this warrant could come up on the background check? Does anyone know if a traffic ticket warrant will show up? Does any one know if that will be an issue? I just want to make sure I have everything taken care of first.
Thanks!

Class C misdemeanors, and warrants issuing therefrom, are not disqualifiers. However they should be disclosed on the application. If I were you, though, I'd want it paid off and closed before applying. Not sure if the fact that it's still open would impact, or slow things or not. Good luck.
Eta, the warrant should be disclosed. Class C misdemeanor tickets do not need be disclosed.

I totally agree with everything sjfcontrol said. Plus I would like to add, since a warrant was issued, you should provide copies along with your application, of the courts 'disposition' of the case to prevent delays in processing your application. It might be called something other than 'disposition'. Maybe something like 'final judgement and sentence' or something like that. I know in Tarrant county that's what they call it.

Probably better to let your parents pay off the ticket and warrant first.

A little off the thread. I had some taxes that were delinquent on some worthless
land I was con into buying when I was a dumb kid. I paid the taxes and sent in a receipt for said taxes along
with my chl application. DO the same with the traffic ticket
