A friend texted me an LTC question, sort of.
“Oh, so this Athletic young girl walking her dog in front of my house. She has yoga pants up to her midriff. Clearly has a pocket pistol in a pocket holster like 8 inches down from the top of her yoga pants. I don't really know if you would consider it open carry or concealed? “
I told him she was legal as long as she had an LTC.
Was I correct?

Prior to HB 1927, a person needed a license to carry concealed or open. Since September 1st, the LTC is no longer required by the state of Texas in order to carry either open or concealed. There are still some locations where you are required to have an LTC to carry (ie campus carry).philip964 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 4:36 pm “Oh, so this Athletic young girl walking her dog in front of my house. Your right. I forgot.
But he did say young girl. How old would she have to be?

I was considering entering Bank of America today open carrying with a mask on. I decided against it but wondered if it would set them off. I have not seen a 30.06 on the window or door.
As a side note. I really do wonder how many folks are actually carrying now based on constitutional carry. In my daily talks with folks, I rarely find anyone who even realizes it is legal for everyone with no felony to carry.

Although perfectly legal, would have probably caused a panic. Just think, if there was a line, it probably would have cleared out for you03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 3:39 am I was considering entering Bank of America today open carrying with a mask on. So constitutional open carry. Has to be in a holster, right?
What about concealed carry?
LTC’s don’t have to worry about printing or people catching a glimpse right? Same with constitutional carry?

Nothing is said about whether a concealed firearm must be holstered or not, just concealed. However, I highly recommend to all my students that a concealed firearm SHOULD be in some form of holster that covers the trigger. "Printing" is not an issue for either group, Licensed or Permitless.

I'm assuming that asking the young lady what's in her Pants would be a huge No-No ?

Friday is paycheck cashing day at my local BOA. Might give that a try although most of the folks having to cash their paychecks likely all have guns stuck in the front of their britches anyway. You give me temptation to tell the old joke that ends with... "are you just happy to see me".crazy2medic wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 9:00 am I'm assuming that asking the young lady what's in her Pants would be a huge No-No ?

I spoke a lady that makes these type of pants. They hold a small firearm well.

When they passed constitutional carry, they also changed the holster laws for open carry. It no longer must be just a belt or shoulder holster, it can be any kind, anywhere,
