I took the CHL class a couple of weeks ago and now I'm looking for signs more often. I was walking around downtown Houston and ran into this sign. I can't read it. I would obey the sign to avoid any trouble, however, where's the contrast? Click the image to view larger.
can't read it

Really? I thought the part of the tunnel under a building was part of the building and owned by the building owner. I could be wrong.

no all the tunnels including the basements are city property, the resturaunts and vendors down there pay the city thats why the doors are always open if they even have doors, they block the escalators and shut them off or some places even have doors or iron gates. there are a few buildings that have hallways but not actual tunnels thru them that have doors and yes those posting are legal

So is it part of the tunnels? If not, please share the location with fellow Houstonians so we can avoid that business (and support their competition).

Yes, its part of the tunnel. It's Kinder Morgan. The former El Paso building. No much the average citizen can do to avoid that business. Their customers are mostly oil and gas companies.

I can't tell for sure since I can't see the Spanish part very well. Unless it is a reflection I'm seeing, I think the English part is above the Spanish part.

The English part is above the Spanish part. Funny how the text on the door is black.

Not In contrasting colors, clear is not a color unless you a window licker. Not legal, I'm an instructor and I would walk right past that. I also would keep my mouth shut about it not being legal, that way they never fix it. :tiphat:
