There are 3 ways stalkers generally "vanish." Two are sudden, and one is a tapering disappearance:

Sudden:

1. Incarcerated
2. Traveled to a different area

In both of these situatons, incidents may well start up again as suddenly as they stopped when he returns.

Tapering:

3. Developing a fixation on someone else.

Enjoy the return to normalcy but don't let your guard down yet.
