So, I was wondering if I will be able to get a CHL with my slightly not perfect past. This is what is posted on the Harris count website about my case.
I was charged with a felony assault. Pled down to a Misdemeanor assault. BTW I have been in the Army for just over 6 years now, deployed to Iraq. No drug/alcohol/mental problems. My only real concern is with this charge. I have had a few tickets for speeding but I doubt those will do anything. (like 4 in the last 6-10 years)
I will appreciate it if yall weigh in and let me know what yall think. Any information is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not an expert on the subject but many here are. Someone will be along soon that can answer your question more thoroughly than I.
That being said, the way I read it, what you are charged with is only an issue if the case is ongoing. Yours appears to have been resolved with a conviction of a class A Mis.
Conviction of a class A Mis disqualifies you for 5 years. It appears that you are beyond the 5 years.
Again, someone with more knowledge on the subject than I will confirm or refute my statement shortly.

Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid.

Thanks for your service!
Yes, it was a Class A Misdemeanor conviction that was disposed more than 5 years ago. It will not disqualify you.
You might as well get a certified copy from the clerk of courts, because that is what the DPS will end up requesting. You might as well submit it right up front.
