Hey all, I am a new member as well as a fairly new CHL holder so all needless to say there is quite a bit of questions that have crossed my mind. Here is one that intrigues me. PC 30.06 says:
(b) For purposes of this section, a person receives notice if the owner of the
property or someone with apparent authority to act for the owner provides notice
to the person by oral or written communication.
Since many businesses do not "own" their property, but rather "lease" the property, how would a business that does not own their property be able to display 30.06 sign prohibiting one from entering their business if they do not "own" the property?
Appreciate any insight any experienced users/licensee's can provide.

Re: PC 30.06 "Owner" vs. "Lessee"
Welcome to the forum.
If someone leases an entire facility and is in control of the entire facility IMHO their lease gives them the authority to post 30.06. If someone leases only a portion of a facility such as a doctors office then their lease would give them the authority to post 30.06 in the portion of the facilities under their control.
If leasing only a portion of the facility, the owner of the faculty could still post the entire facility.

The owner of the mall might post at the entrance and it apply generally to all interior retail stores, but the lease agreement for the gun store likely is claused to exempt that store from the 30.06 which applies to all other leasees.

Re: PC 30.06 "Owner" vs. "Lessee"
In broad terms, a lessee assumes most of the authority and much of the responsibility of the property owner, unless the lease contract provides otherwise. For example, they can control who is allowed to enter and who is not, and they can be responsible for injury to customers as is the owner, but they cannot be held liable for property taxes.
