Thanks for posting this Andy, it's easy to see which universities are at least trying to comply with the law. There are still some that I believe will require action from the AG before they fall in line.

I couldn't help but notice that UTD has done nothing so far. Par for the course.

UTD was, until very recently, without a university president.

Presence of school children: The nature of our type of university is that school children can and will appear at unscheduled times in almost any location, whether in groups of escorted tours, as subjects of study or treatment, in transit to childcare areas, or as visitors, alone or with families. There is no practical way to warn about or to demark areas of campus where such occurrences will or will not happen. Hence, it is incumbent upon the individual carrying a concealed weapon to avoid areas in which school children are present.
This NEEDS to be clarified in the next legislative session. Just because school children or school aged children are present in a place does not make it off limits by statue. A gun isn't going to jump out of its holster and start randomly shooting just because children are present. If the LTC holder is following the other rules about keeping it securely in a holster on or about their person so that the trigger guard is covered, the firearm is secure.

This idea that guns (or the person carrying them) turn into homicidal monsters at the presence of children is completely ridiculous and flies in the face of even the most basic logic.

That is pretty cool.

I noticed that it is also broken down by whether or not they have been approved by the board of regents, has been submitted to the BOR, and where they are still in the preliminary stage. I attended UTSWMC and if the ban on laboratories stands, which none of the approved ones have done, I would have effectively been completely banned since I went into at least one lab every day.

Some are going to still have dorms be off limits? Really? I hope those are not approved.
