Another reason to carry at home

#1

Post by elwood blooz »

A good friend of mine father in law fell for an old trick yesterday morning.

He is 84 years old, looks more like he is in his late 60's to me, anyway, two men came to his house yesterday morning pretending to be employee's of the natural gas provider in the Houston area. They told him they needed to check his gas meter. Although he was relunctant, he gave them access to the meter. When he opened hia attached garage he was jumped by both, taped up in a chair & left in the garage.

He has rent homes and had been counting his rent money on the kitchen table at the time this occured, thus loosing about $3k and they stole his truck when they left, saying, Don't get up until we're gone or we will kill you. He was banged up a little had got a black eye, but is still here today!

God was watching out for him; it could have turned out much worse.

I'm only 59 now. I hope I make it to 84 and if they come around to see me they will not walk away!

Do not open that door!!! Get some money and fix that lock too. You can afford a nice truck but not a better door?

Get a camera!!! Those things are cheap nowadays.

How is it going to help when two guys are jumping on you even you carry at home?
Please help the wounded store owner who fought off 3 robbers. He doesn't have medical insurance.

I also agree with not opening the door.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

I have the peep hole on my front door. I need one of those chain lock things to allow opening the door a bit but still sort of secure.

According to the friend of mine, he had a "gut" feeling something was up but opened the garage anyway.

If he'd had a weapon at ready, when the garage door opened, just showing it if needed could've prevented this.

It happened in the area of Antoine & North Sheperd

I didn't get a description per say, just a couple of white guys pretending to work for Centerpoint
